THE TIME HAS COME.
After spending half of 2024 building attention to the brand, deciding on where to go with it and making a lot of mistakes along the way we're finally here. The journey wasn't smooth and I've learned that I didn't tell the story of Sabre and it's first collection very well at all. But that's part of the journey. Nevertheless, the Recon collection of watches will be available at the start of the new year 2025 with the addition of one new colour dial.
First, a little bit of background about the story of the Recon Collection. I've love assembling watches and all the technicalities behind assembling and regulating watches. After learning about the military heritage of my family - both grandparents serving for Britain during the Second World War - and admiring military watches for a long time I knew the first watch I wanted to produce was a field watch. However, I also wanted to pay homage to the North East (where the watches are assembled). This is why a bulkier case was chosen as to me it represents the North East's old steel heritage well.
SPECIFICATIONS: The case is made of the industry standard 316L stainless steel. 20mm lug width allows for your watch to be worn on a wide variety of straps along with the stock green military style fabric strap. The lug to lug is 48mm with a diameter of 38mm. The watch had a screw-down crown that allows you to be confident of that 100m water resistance, along with a flat sapphire crystal - piece of mind for scratches and splashes. The watch is powered by the ever-reliable, workhorse Japanese NH35A movement. This movement is a little thicker than others there it leads to the case thickness being 12.8mm without a nato strap. The numerals are C3 lumed. The watches will come in their own travel roll alongside an industry standard 2 year warranty.
MOVEMENT REGULATION AND ASSEMBLY: All watches will be assembled in the North East of England. The NH35A movement in your watch will be regulated in three positions as close to 0 seconds per day if possible, the minimum is for the movement to be running between -3 to +3 seconds per day in the three positions (face down, crown at 6, crown at 12). At this point they can leave the workshop. The watches will come with a card showing their model number and values during movement regulation.
PRICE: The initial discounted launch price will be less than £200 ($250) for the first month, after which it gradually return to full price. This includes the pre-order price for the white dial version of the watch. As it's my passion to assemble watches, I can make a promise not to shaft anyone with the prices of the watches - not just for these first lot of watches but also future models.
